Overly Dry hair

Hey there Curlfriends!!! I have been getting soooo many questions about dry hair and what can be done about it. Well, one of my go to methods for locking in moisture and keep the hair hydrated is to use the the LOC or LCO method.

What is the LOC or LCO method?

LOC and LCO are acronym's for liquid, oil, and cream, and describe the order in which you layer products for application to maximize moisture and hair retention. This process can be used by all textures, including relaxed hair, and increases pliability and manageability, reduces scalp and hair dryness, improves moisture retention, speeds hair growth and retention, and seals split ends while imparting shine.

How to

For Naturals

  • First, using a spray bottle, section the hair and mist your hair with a Liquid, such as water or leave-in conditoner

  • Next, in the same section, focusing on the mid-shaft and ends, apply your plant-based oil

  • Finally, seal the entire section with a dime to nickel size amount of cream moisturizer, such as Crème Brûlée, or a natural butter like shea or cocoa.

  • Style as usual

For Relaxed hair

  • After shampooing, while hair is still damp, mix cream based moisture conditioner in bowl with a stream of oil. Place cap on head and process for 15 minutes with sit under dryer or with heated cap.

  • Rinse thoroughly and style as usual.

Now that you are equipped with better knowledge about LOC and LCO, share with us your preference for the two. Are you team LOC or LCO? Til next time :-)
